PIERRE – at 5:00 PM, Thursday, law enforcement responded to a call of a vehicle driving carelessly on Fourth Street. It would be reported that the driver was brandishing a firearm. Traffic would be shut down and as officers approached the parked vehicle, the driver was founded deceased of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. South Dakota’s Division of Criminal Investigation has an investigation underway of the 32-year old man.
No foul play is suspected at this time. Law enforcement was not on the scene when the driver apparently took his own life.
