Last week the All-State basketball teams would be released as two Pierre Governors and two Sully Buttes Chargers are selected to this year’s teams. Remington Price and Reese Terwilliger for Pierre and Lydia Hill and Stevie Wittler for Sully Buttes.
Price, a senior, who broke the school’s record for made threes in a career finished her senior campaign with 13.6 points per game in her fifth year as a varsity member of the Pierre Governors. She’s joined by junior Reese Terwilliger, who was selected for this year’s second team. Terwilliger scored 12.1 points a game while also bringing in a team leading 6.7 rebounds per game. The two helped lead the Governors to the two seed in the AA standings clinching a spot in the state tournament for the first time since the 2016-17 season. Pierre finished with a 20-4 record and finished in second in the state tournament, its best finish since being runner-up in 2008.
The Sully Buttes Chargers this year were led by Lydia Hill and Stevie Wittler as the Chargers returned to the state tournament this year for the first time since 2018. Hill, a senior averaged a double-double this year scoring a team high 16 points per game and pulling down a team high 10 rebounds per game. Hill was the dominant force down low in which the Chargers won 20 games this season. Wittler, who will return next year for the Chargers averaged 15 points a game and four assists per game. She will be one of five juniors in the state to make All-State to return for a senior campaign.
