Pierre Baseball has High Hopes for Spring Season

While the winter weather wants to never seem to go away, the Pierre Governor high school baseball team is getting set to play its first game of the season next week Friday in Rapid City.

This year’s team has seven seniors including Christian Busch, Jackson Edman, Lincoln Kienholz, Brecken Krueger, Jonny Lyons and Jayden Wiebe all returning to this year’s team. Jack Merkwan returns this year after not playing last year and Deegan Houska missed all of baseball because of an injury and returns for his senior year. Gray says the guys are chomping at the bit to get playing…

The Governors face Rapid City Stevens on Friday, March 31 with a JV game at 6:00 Central Time and a varsity game at 8:00 followed by a doubleheader at Sturgis on Saturday starting at 2:00 Central Time. Varsity games will be on KCCR and on YouTube to watch at KCCR Sports throughout the Spring season.
