Black Hills State Faces Minnesota Duluth in Elite Eight

For the second straight year, the Black Hills State men’s basketball team will be in the Division II Men’s Basketball Elite Eight playing in Evansville. Tuesday, the Yellow Jackets will face Minnesota-Duluth for the first time in program history.

BH has been reseeded third in the Elite Eight as Duluth will be the six seed. All eight teams that qualify for the Elite Eight are reseeded and the rest of the games are played at a neutral site which is in Evansville, Indiana. Both the Yellow Jackets and Bulldogs were the six seed heading into the NCAA DII tournament and had to pull off three upsets on the way to earning a spot in the Elite Eight. Duluth beat Southern Nazarene, the five seed in the region by 10 in the region final while Black Hills knocked off the top seed of the region in West Texas A&M in the region final.

Tip off from Evansville is scheduled for 12:00 Tuesday. It’s the first of the four games on the day.
