Dakota State Faces Clarke Iowa in NAIA Semifinals

The Dakota State women’s basketball teams pulled off three straight upsets in the NAIA tournament to reach the Final Four in Sioux City, Iowa on Friday and will face Clarke out of Iowa.

The Trojans were the six seed in the fourth quadrant and after beating Morningside in the first round, upset the three seed Eastern Oregon, the two seed Carroll, Montana and the top seed in the quadrant in Indiana Wesleyan to reach the final four. They face the two seed of quadrant three in Clarke who rolled over Campbellsville, Kentucky in the quarterfinals 76-51. Dakota State is comprised of six South Dakotans on this year’s team with two of the six being seniors.

Tip off from Sioux Center is scheduled for 8:00 tonight. The winner will face the winner of Central Methodist, Missouri and Thomas More, Kentucky in the Championship Game Saturday night at 7:00. That semifinal game is scheduled prior to the Dakota State game at 6:00.
