The Pierre Governor boys basketball team begin its journey in Rapid City tonight as they face the Mitchell Kernels in the 3-6 matchup.
The Governors and Kernels played a close game in Mitchell which the Kernels pulled out a big win and sent the Governors outside of the SoDak 16. It was, however, the only loss in the last six games of the season. Brianna Kusler, head coach of the Governors says they didn’t play well enough together in that game…
The Governors have the final game of the day, but had the first practice on Wednesday so the Govs will have the time to get acclimated to the tournament without being rushed. Kusler says it will be nice to take in those early games…
As the Governors are making their return to the state tournament in six years, Kusler says it’s important to get into the flow of the game early on especially in a new environment…
