Governors Fall to Washington, Take Second at State

The Pierre Governors were unable to overcome the size of the Washington Warriors on Saturday night as the Govs would fall in the state championship game 54-36.

Brooklyn Harpe led all scorers with 21 points on the evening in the championship game as the top seed held true to its rankings on winning the title. However, the Govs made the Warriors work for it as it was tied 11-11 after the first quarter. Washington did go up by 11 at the half outscoring the Governors 20-9 in the second. Junior Ryann Barry led the Governors with 12 points on the night, the only Gov in double figures. Remi Price and Reese Terwilliger had eight and seven points respectively as both were selected for the All-Tournament team.

For seniors Price, Ayvrie Kaiser, Kara Weiss, Dani Beck, Sydney Tedrow and Maya Shorter, their careers come to an end as they leave second place in the state and finish with a 20-4 record on the year.
