After the loss on Saturday evening, the Oahe Capitals came back to win in the third place game over the Rushmore Thunder with a 6-3 victory to close the season.

The Capitals opened up the scoring as Devon Dodson would score with just 14 seconds remaining in the first period. After Rushmore tied the game 1-1, Jarron Beck took a shot which was redirected off a Rushmore player and over the top of the goalie, Jackson Habrock. In the third and after Rushmore pulled within 4-3, Carter Gordon would score a power play goal to help seal the win as Corbin Beastrom added the sixth goal on a 5-on-3.

The Capitals finished at 24-4-0-1 on the season as seniors Ashton Griese, Jonny Lyons, Andre Carbonneau and Gordon along with goalie Colin Lee end their careers with a win.
