Governors Will Play for State Championship

The Pierre Governors were near flawless in night two of the AA state tournament with a 51-37 win over the Harrisburg Tigers on Friday.

The Governors controlled things from the start and led 15-2 at the end of the first quarter before taking a 24-10 lead into the break. Reese Terwilliger had 19 points to lead all scorers and hit five of five free throws in the win as the junior was limited with foul trouble on Thursday and used her scoring on Friday. Ryann Barry also hit for double figures with 10 points on the night while Ayvrie Kaiser knocked in eight. Pierre was perfect from the line at 7-7 including 4-4 in the fourth quarter. Abigail Flanagan had a team high 17 points for Harrisburg knocking down three threes in the loss.

Washington clipped Jefferson in the state semifinals 46-43 and will face the Governors at 7:45 on Saturday. Bryce Ladwig will have the call on KCCR and online at kccrradio.com for the championship game.
