Pierre Governors Face Stevens to Begin State Tournament Thursday

The Pierre Governors are back in the state tournament for the first time since the 2016-2017 season and are the number two overall seed in the tournament. Thursday, they open up with the Rapid City Stevens Raiders.

The Governors and Raiders played all the way back to begin the season as the Governors won 58-46 for Pierre to open up the season while the Raiders feel to 1-1. Now, the Govs are 18-3 and Stevens is up to 14-7 beating Huron in the SoDak 16 to reach the state tournament. As Pierre enters the tournament, the Govs have beaten six of the seven teams in Sioux Falls this weekend. Only Washington has gotten the better of the Governors this season who has qualified for the state tournament. Kirk Beebout, head coach of the Governors says they feel good about this team…
