PIERRE — The South Dakota Attorney General’s office is assisting with the investigation of an incident in Hughes County this week. Authorities were called to a residence on Spring Creek Drive Tuesday morning around 5:30 am. Arrested was 52 year-old Henry Jacobson of Pierre. Jacobson had barricaded himself at the residence 15 miles north of Pierre until he was taken into custody around 11:30 am. Jacobson is charged with Aggravated Assault-Domestic Violence. The investigation of the incident is underway and additional charges are possible. Jacobson is scheduled for an initial appearance in court Thursday. A number of agencies assisted in bringing the standoff to a safe end including the U-S Marshal Service, F-B-I, South Dakota Highway Patrol, Pierre Police, Hughes and Sully County Sheriff’s Offices and A-M-R Ambulance.
