Sully Buttes Faces Harding County in SoDak 16

The Sully Buttes Charger girls team will be the four seed heading into the SoDak 16 on Thursday and face the 13 seed in Harding County with a trip to the state tournament on the line.

The Chargers were foiled a spot in the state tournament last year by Faith Longhorns. Now, the Chargers have built up a spot to have a more favorable matchup to reach the state tournament this year. Sully Buttes is 19-3 and have won four straight after dropping its last contest to the top seed in Class B in Wolsey-Wessington. Harding County, meanwhile, was at 8-8 after back to back losses, but have rattled off six wins in a row to reach the SoDak 16 at 14-8 and would need an even 10 game winning streak to win the state title. The only common opponent between the two teams is Timber Lake. Both teams lost by 14 to the Panther as the Chargers lost 51-37 while the Ranchers lost 60-46.

The game tonight will be in the neutral site of Gettysburg. Tip off is at 7:00 as DT Meyer, the voice of the Sully Buttes Chargers will be on the call on Country 95.3, pierrecountry.com and on YouTube at Country 95.3 Sports.
