The Pierre City Commission is ending February with a regular weekly meeting tonight. In special business the South Dakota Engineering Society Central Chapter will present their annual Engineering Award to the city for the drinking water plant project. Commissioners will also consider approval of an eight-item consent calendar. The calendar contains the claims and previous meeting minutes along with four human resource items, a raffle request and setting a public hearing date for a malt beverage license transfer and wine license application. Commissioners will consider awarding a bid for bale bags and will review results of bidding for the pickleball court project. Also on the agenda is a request to purchase a mini-skid steer for the electric department; the introduction of a Tax Increment Financing District number 8 for the former city hall site project and first reading of a budget supplement for the pickleball court project. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 p.m. at the Pierre Municipal Building.
