Oahe Capitals Finish Season with Three Games Concluding with Rushmore Sunday

This weekend the Oahe Capitals will end its regular season with a busy three game weekend with two on the road and closing at home on Sunday against the second ranked team, Rushmore.

The Capitals will spend Friday in Huron to face the All Stars first. Huron has been eliminated from postseason contention as their season will end this weekend. The Capitals rolled to a win back on Dec. 30 against the All Stars in Ft. Pierre.

Then on Saturday, the Caps will face the Watertown Lakers on the road. The Caps were able to roll past the Lakers at home on Pink the Rink night a couple of weeks ago. Watertown needs a point to ensure a spot in the playoffs but a win for Sioux Falls 2 over Sioux Center will clinch them a spot in the postseason.

Sunday closes the year and will truly put the Capitals in playoff mode. Oahe faces Rushmore looking to win the final game of the season as the Thunder are coming into the weekend without a regulation loss. The only loss for the Thunder is an overtime loss to Sioux Falls 1. However, the Thunder will be in Brookings Friday and Saturday before heading to the Expo Center on Sunday.

Saturday and Sunday’s game will be on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports. Coverage will begin around 5:40 on Saturday and 2:40 on Sunday. Jon Winkler will have the call.
