Governors with Seven Boys, Six Girls in State Semifinals

After the first day of state wrestling, the Pierre Governors will have 13 total wrestlers still competing for a state title as they sit just ahead of Brandon Valley in the team title standings on the boys side and lead in the girls standings.

The Governors will have Alex Oedekoven in the 113, Tristan Spencer in the 138, Deegan Houska in the 160, Trey Lewis in the 170, Chance Carda in the 182, Gavin Stotts in the 195 and Josh Rydberg in the 285 will all be in the state semifinals on the boys side for Pierre. For the Governor girls, Sydney Uhrig in the 106, Gianna Stangeland in the 132, Abbi Lewis in the 142, Ireland Templeton in the 170, Marlee Shorter in the 190 and Ciara McFarling in the 285 will all be in the semifinals. All 10 wrestlers remain for Pierre on the girls side and 10 wrestlers remain on the boys side as well.

Cateri Yellowhawk is in the state semifinals in the 126 for the Sully Buttes Chargers. Chase Hanson and Colton Brady are still alive for third place for the Stanley County Buffalo boys heading into the second day.
