Pierre Faces Jefferson in one of the Biggest Games of the Season as Girls Host, Boys Travel

The Pierre Governors have just two games remaining as tonight the boys and girls will face the Jefferson Cavaliers with both teams in the top three of the AA standings.

The Governor boys will face Jefferson who just lost its first game of the year on Saturday to the Washington Warriors, However, the Cavs remain in first place in the standings even with the loss and will most likely be the one seed heading into the playoffs. Yet, it gives the Governors a chance for a 50 point win tonight and trailing Harrisburg by 0.6 seed points for eighth place, a real shot at moving ahead of them in the standings with also a win on Friday night against Roosevelt.

The Governor girls are in a close race for the top four spots in the AA standings. Pierre currently sits in second place with Jefferson right behind at number three and then O’Gorman looking to take advantage over whichever team losses this evening. With Washington as the top seed, the four teams are separated by a total of 0.9 points. A win for the Governors and then facing winless Roosevelt on Friday, Pierre could make a top two seed concrete for the start of the playoffs. Both teams are 15-3 as Jefferson has won nine of the last 10 and Pierre winning seven of the last eight heading into tonight. It’s also the final home game of the regular season for the Governor girls this evening.
