The Waverly South Shore Coyotes used the free throw line to down the Sully Buttes Chargers 74-68 Saturday afternoon from the Warner Classic.
Landon Maag(mahg) scored 32 points for the Coyotes, while fellow senior Dan Dalton added 16 for 9-10 Waverly/South Shore. The Coyotes wore a path to the free throw line, and hit 26 of 40 to help seal the game.
The Chargers were led by Wesley Wittler, who hit for 26 points, while Landon Hepker added 17 before fouling out midway through the fourth quarter. Sully Buttes was 16 of 23 from the line. This was the Chargers 4th game of the week, and head coach Brian White subbed frequently to try to keep the leg weary Chargers fresh.
Sully Buttes drops to 5-14 on the season, and will wrap up the regular season at home Friday against the North Central Titans.
