Governors Win Region 3A, Qualify All 14

The Pierre Governors will send a wrestler in every weight class once again for the 2023 state tournament this coming weekend. The Governors also claimed the Region 3A title.

Pierre would score a 274.5, 30.5 points ahead of Aberdeen Central who finished in second place. To qualify wrestlers for the state tournament you must reach at least the third place match and finish in the top four. The Governor did just that with six region champions and a total of nine Govs in the championship match. Alex Oedekoven, Tristan Spencer, Deegen Houska, Chance Carda, Gavin Stotts and Josh Rydberg all would pick up region championships.

You can see a full list of the results below. The Governors will compete at the state tournament beginning Thursday in Rapid City. Pierre will also be the two seed for the state dual tournament.
