Stanley County Swept by Little Wound in Final Home Games

The Stanley County Buffaloes would be swept by the Little Wound Mustangs on Friday night as the girls wrapped up the season and the boys played in its last home game.

The Buffalo girls dropped its final game 52-22 to the Lady Mustangs to close out the season at 6-14 and in the sixth spot in the Region 6A standings. The Lady Buffs will have travel back to Dupree to face the Tigers. The two teams met back on Feb. 10 and the Tigers won at home 60-39. Now, the Lady Buffs will look for a win when it matters the most in the region tournament on Tuesday.

The Stanley County boys would also fall to Little Wound 61-48 as the Buffs drop to 3-16 and have lost eight straight. Little Wound improves to 8-10 on the season. The Buffs will have to travel to Presho to face the Lyman Raiders on Monday to close out the season and to put a stop to the losing streak. Stanley County remains in sixth place in the Region standings and will likely be stuck to the six seed heading into the playoffs, but still an opportunity to beat the Raiders and head into the playoffs with confidence.
