After a thrilling overtime defeat a couple of weeks ago for the Oahe Capitals against Sioux Falls 1, now the Caps can get revenge on the Flyers tonight and then host Mitchell on Saturday.
The Capitals look to be the first team to beat the Flyers with Sioux Falls now having two ties and playing in four straight overtime games before its 8-1 win over Sioux Center last Saturday. The Flyers are tied in points with the Rushmore Thunder for the top spot in the standings but have a win over the Thunder to claim the tiebreaker as it stands right now. The Capitals are just three points behind both teams.
On Saturday, the Capitals return back home to face the Mitchell Marlins Oahe beat Mitchell 6-1 earlier in the season. Oahe needs just a single point to clinch at least a top four spot in the state tournament and can do so on Friday or finish the season sweep of the Marlins on Saturday to keep them from jumping above them in the standings. The Marlins are in fifth place and its a potential first round preview on Saturday.
Both games will be on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports with coverage on Friday starting at 7:40 and Sunday at 5:40. Jon Winkler will be on the call.
