The Sully Buttes Chargers were playing its second doubleheader in as many days, but it was no problem for either the boys and girls winning both over Sunshine Bible Academy on the road.
The Charger girls would start the night off rolling to a 59-22 win over the Crusaders. It improves the Chargers record to 16-3 on the year with just one game left, against another region foe in the Faulkton Area Trojans on Thursday. The Chargers had been the number one team in seed points in all of Class B, but have fallen to the five spot after the two games against Wolsey-Wessington and Sunshine Bible.
The Charger boys picked up the road win as well on Tuesday winning 68-43 over the Crusaders. The win puts Sully Buttes at 5-12 and have three games remaining, including the doubleheader on Thursday before traveling on Saturday to the Warner Classic. The Chargers are trailing Faulkton Area by a full seed point and need a win Thursday to try and help them move past the Trojans into the 4-5 matchup in the region tournament.
Sully Buttes will host Faulkton Area on Thursday for the girls to close out the season. DT Meyer will have the call of the doubleheader on Country 95.3, pierrecountry.com and on YouTube at Country 95.3 Sports.
