Right now the City of Pierre is waiting to hear about what selection the United States Department of Transportation will make in regards to continuing the Essential Air Service program at Pierre. Denver Air submitted the only bid to serve Pierre and Watertown with three options. Pierre selected a hybrid fourth option with two-hub service to Denver and Minneapolis; eight weekly flights to Denver and four to the Twin Cities. U-S D-O-T could make the selection for a new two-year contract as soon as mid-March.
