Pierre Faces Brookings as Girls Travel and Boys will Host for Third Straight Game

The AA basketball season is into its final two weeks of the year as the Governors have just four games remaining, beginning tonight with a matchup against the Brookings Bobcats.

The Governor girls will travel to Brookings to face the 4-12 Bobcats who are just barely into the SoDak 16 if the season ended today. Brookings had won two in a row before Saturday’s loss to Jefferson. This could be a preview of a SoDak 16 contest as Pierre is currently in third and Brookings in 15th. A small change to the standings could see the Bobcats make their way to Pierre for the playoff matchup.

The Governor boys will look for a third straight victory as they play the team at the very bottom of the AA standings. Brookings is at 2-14. The Bobcats had a 12 game losing streak after its season opening win and have dropped back to back games. The Governors are still in eighth place in the AA standings looking to hold on to a home playoff spot.

Coverage of the girls game will be on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports starting at 6:30 and tip off at 7:00. Jon Winkler will have the call.
