The Oahe Capital girls went 0-2 against the Aberdeen Cougars but would route the Huron All Stars to finish the regular season at 7-8-1-0.
The Capitals fell 2-1 to Aberdeen on Friday on the road as Kafka would score the lone goal of the night as she would also score the lone goal in Sunday’s 3-1 loss to the Cougars. The Caps would score 10 goals in a 10-3 win on Saturday in Huron as Micah Buffalo would record a hat trick and Kafka would score twice. Sara Bierne, Katie Reiss, Aubrey Stewart, Cameron Larson and Dakota McEntaffer would all score in the win. Sophia Peschong would make 18 saves on 21 shots. The Capitals will need help with Huron next weekend to beat the Rushmore Thunder twice for the Caps receive the five seed in the state tournament.
The Capitals will play next in Sioux Falls for the state tournament. All 11 games of the state varsity tournament will be on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports with Jon Winkler and Jim Lloyd on the call.
