Noem Plan For Paid Family Leave Clears House State Affairs Committee

PIERRE — A proposal from Governor Kristi Noem survived it’s first hurtle of this year’s legislative session Wednesday. House Bill 1151 would create the South Dakota paid family leave program. The bill had no opposition and plenty of support in the House State Affairs Committee. The bill allows private businesses to jump on the plan to lower overall costs.
