Pierre Girls Finish First in Yankton Tournament

Pierre Governor girls wrestling remains undefeated in tournaments with another win, this time in Yankton scoring a 186, 56 points higher than Rapid City Stevens.

Marlee Shorter was the only Governor to pick up an individual tournament win on Saturday, but there were a total of seven girls in the championship match. Sydney Uhrig, Kerzey Benning, Dani Ringstmeyer, Gianna Stangeland, Hattie Baldwin and Ireland Templeton were the other six competitors to reach the finals and all six placed second for the Governors. Lexie Hillmer also placed third for Pierre.

You can see a full list of the results below. The Governors will face Aberdeen Central at home on Thursday before traveling to Harrisburg on Saturday for its second to final tournament of the regular season.
