Capitals Storm to Victory for both Boys and Girls Teams on Pink the Rink

The Oahe Capitals boys and girls varsity teams were successful in getting wins on Saturday during Pink the Rink as the girls would win 6-2 and the boys 7-0.

In the girls game, the Caps would get a hat trick from Brylee Kafka as she has now scored 10 goals over the last four games for Oahe. Cami Larson would score a short handed goal as Sara Bierne would get a goal and two assists while Katherine Reiss would net her second goal of the season. Abby Stewart-Fromm would make 19 saves in net as the Capitals have now won five in a row and improve to 6-6-1-0 on the season with a three game weekend to close out the year next weekend.

In the boys contest, the Capitals quickly went out to a 3-0 lead as Corbin Beastrom would score one of the three first period goals, his first of the season as Ashton Griese and Aiden Dozark would net the other two. Dylan and Devin Dodson would each score and Barrett Schweitzer would score twice in the third period on the power play to give the Caps the 7-0 win. Colin Lee made 23 saves in net for his second shutout of the season as Oahe improves to 12-2-0-1.

The broadcast schedule next weekend will be Saturday for the boys game against Sioux Falls 2 and then Sunday a split doubleheader at home against the Aberdeen Cougars. All three games will be on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports.
