Three Wins, Three Shutouts for Oahe Capitals Girls

Brylee Kafka would score seven goals over the weekend out of the 10 scored by the Oahe Capitals girls as the two goalies for Oahe combined for three shutouts beating Rushmore and Sioux Center.

After a 1-0 win on Friday on the road, the Capitals returned home to face the Sioux Center Storm and picked up a 5-0 and 4-0 win on Saturday and Sunday while both Sophia Peschong and Abagail Stewart-Fromm each had a shutout in net.

Kafka scored twice in the 5-0 win while Emily Nemec scored twice and Cami Larson had another to help the Capitals get a handful lead to hold on for Peschong’s for shutout of the season. Then Kakfa scored all four goals on Sunday with Sara Bierne picking up three assists as she had a total of six on the weekend. Stewart-Fromm shutout the Thunder on Friday and had the shutout on Sunday as well.

Oahe is now 5-6-1-0 and will face the Watertown Lakers on Saturday on Pink the Rink night. Coverage will start at 2:10 with puck drop at 2:30 on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports.
