The Oahe Capitals would pick up two big points on Friday on the road in Rapid City as Brylee Kafka would score 17 seconds into the third period to hold up as the only goal in a 1-0 win over the Rushmore Thunder.
Kafka’s goal was unassisted as she now has five to lead the Caps and also help lead the team to its second straight victory. Abagail Stewart-Fromm was once again phenomenal in net picking up a 31 save shutout, her first of the season. The two points in the win, puts the Caps behind Rushmore by just two points with the tiebreaker and Oahe has four of its last six games against teams below them in the standings.
Oahe will face the Sioux Center Storm tonight and tomorrow at the Expo Center in Ft. Pierre. Puck drop is at 7:00 tonight and 3:45 on Sunday.
