Oahe Jumps Out Early on Sioux Falls in Blowout Win

The Oahe Capitals scored a minute and three seconds into the game on Friday as the Capitals stormed to an 8-0 win over Sioux Falls 2 to begin its three game weekend.

The Capitals scored five first period goals as Oahe went 2-2 on the power play in the first period and 3-3 in the game as Ashton Griese had a power play, short handed and even strength goal for the hat trick. The Caps went up 6-0 midway through the second period and started the running clock which helps for the rest of the weekend to save the legs. Jarron Beck and Barrett Schweitzer each had two goals and three assists on the night while Devin Dodson added the eighth goal late in the second period from his brother Dylan Dodson. Jonny Lyons also had three assists for the Capitals as Oahe outshot the Flyers 32-20. Colin Lee recorded his seventh win of the year and his first shutout of the regular season. Oahe improves to 7-2 while the Flyers drop to 4-6-0-1.

Oahe is back on the ice tonight now in Mitchell. Coverage will be a part of a split doubleheader as the Oahe girls will play the Marlins at 4:00 and then the boys varsity at 8:30. Both games will be on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
