After losing two games late last week, the Sully Buttes Chargers came out rested and refocused, and the result was a 78-39 victory over Stanley County Thursday night at Parkview Gym in Ft. Pierre.
Lydia Hill returned to the lineup and made an immediate impact, by scoring 24 points, and dominated rebounding on both ends of the floor to pace Sully Buttes. The Chargers had four players in double figures–with Allyson Wittler adding 13, Stevie Wittler and Calleigh Chicoine each contributing 11 points.
For Stanley County, forward Cadence Hand led all scorers with 9 points, Kaysen Magee hitting for 8, and Mattie Duffy adding seven for the 4-9 Lady Buffaloes.
The Chargers led 53-22 at he half, and the entire second half was played with the continuous clock. Another big difference in the game–turnovers. The Chargers tallied eight for the game, to Stanley County finished with 17.
8-2 Sully Buttes now has a week off and will take the court next Thursday at home against Hitchcock Tulare in a girls-boys doubleheader, while the Lady Buffs host Gregory next Thursday.
