The Pierre Governor wrestling teams will both be in Yankton on Thursday as they face both Yankton and Huron in a girls and boys triangular.
Both Governor teams are undefeated on the season as the Governor girls are 2-0 in duals to begin the year with wins over Brookings and Harrisburg. The Huron Tigers come in at 2-3 after winning its first two duals of the season, the Tigers have dropped its last three including a 28-6 loss to Harrisburg last Thursday. The Yankton Gazelles are 1-2 on the season and have a shorter lineup than what the Tigers and Governors will have. Pierre will quickly return home for a tournament they host on Friday.
The Governor boys are at 3-0 with all three wins coming against ESD foes as the Govs look to improve to 5-0 in the ESD and overall tonight. The two other teams are struggling as the Tigers are just 1-10 on the year while Yankton is 3-9. Yankton has losses to Watertown and Brookings while the Tigers have lost to all three of Pierre’s opponents. The Governors will return home for the East/West Duals on Saturday.
