The Timber Lake Panthers showed Sully Buttes how fast they like the tempo, and raced out to an early lead, that eventually would hold up for a 52-37 Panther victory over the Chargers Friday night in Onida.
The Panthers were led in scoring by senior Shay Kraft, who finished with 22 points, while fellow senior Carli Lawrence tallied ten points for the 8-0 Panthers.
The Chargers fought back numerous times during the game, and in the second half, pulled to within two points, but their offense once again stalled, and the Panthers pushed the ball, and found success against the Chargers defense. Sully Buttes also had too many turnovers to keep the game within reach.
For the 7-2 Chargers Stevie Wittler once again led the way with 16 points, while Allyson Wittler added 14.
Next up for Sully Buttes is a road game Thursday against the Stanley County Buffaloes, and can be heard on Country 95.3FM, pierrecountry.com, and on Youtube at Country 95.3FM sports with DT Meyer on the call.
