Capitals Fall in Brookings Sunday

Abagail Stewart-Fromm would notch her 2300 career save on Sunday, but it was the Brookings Rangers with the 4-1 win over the Oahe Capitals.

Savannah Barber would score the lone goal of the first period to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead through the first 17 minutes. Barber would score 50 seconds into the second period. However, Brylee Kafka would make it a 2-1 game when the puck took a crazy hop off the zamboni doors to jump in front of the net. The Rangers would score two power play goals late in the second to take a 4-1 lead after two periods. Stewart-Fromm made 39 saves in net as she surpassed over 2300 saves on her career after her 14th save of the afternoon. Aletha Baker made 11 saves in net for the Rangers who improve to 11-2 on the season while the Caps fall to 1-5-1-0.

Oahe will travel to Mitchell and Watertown next weekend. Saturday’s game in Mitchell will be the first of a split doubleheader with the boys game on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports.
