Sunday, the Oahe Capitals girls varsity will be looking for its second win of the season as they travel out to Brookings to face the Rangers.
The two teams met at the Expo Center over the New Year’s weekend as the Rangers got the best of the Capitals with a 5-1 win. Now the Capitals will look to return to the favor and knock off one of the three best teams in the state as Brookings along with Sioux Falls and Aberdeen all have just one loss. Savannah Barber leads the Rangers with 12 goals and is second in the league as Kira Vugteveen is leading the league in assist at 21 and in points at 32. While the Capitals don’t have any goal scorers with more than two goals on the season, nine different players have found the back of the net providing some added depth.
