Pierre Boys Travel to Sioux Falls to Face Lincoln While Girls Host

After the postponement of the game on Tuesday, the Pierre Governor girls will be at home tonight to face the Lincoln Patriots while the boys are on schedule to be on the road.

Both Governor teams are at 5-0 on the season and the Pierre girls have earned a first place vote into the Class AA media poll, sitting at third. The Patriots are 2-3 with three straight losses to Washington, Harrisburg and Jefferson before beating Moorhead, Minnesota to close out 2022. Last season the Governors came up just short in a 47-46 game in Sioux Falls.

The Governor boys are up to second place in the media polls at 5-0 and will face the number three team in the Lincoln Patriots on the road. Lincoln comes in at 2-1 on the season with its only loss to the 3-0 Jefferson Cavaliers who are currently ranked first in the polls. Pierre has double-digit wins in all five of its contests so far on the year. Pierre will face the presence of seven footer JT Rock for the Patriots to try and neutralize his game off the score sheet and glass.

KCCR will have coverage of the girls game tonight beginning at 6:30 and tip off at 7:00 on the air on 98.9 FM and 1240 AM along with YouTube at KCCR Sports. Jon Winkler will have the call.
