The Pierre Governor basketball teams are set to return to action days earlier than originally scheduled. The Governors will face Spearfish and Sturgis this weekend in rescheduled games from two weeks ago.
Both Governor teams are 3-0 to begin the season as the girls were able to win its home opener last week Tuesday against Watertown and will face the Spartans first at home this weekend who will be coming in at 0-1 with a loss to Belle Fourche. Saturday’s game is an unknown as the Scoopers of Sturgis have yet to play a game and will play tonight against Aberdeen in its first game.
The same goes for the Governor boys except Spearfish is at 1-0 on the season. Spearfish beat Belle Fourche in its only game of the year, but the Scoopers have yet to play a game, but will when they host Aberdeen Central tonight. This is the second and third road games of the season for the Governors who will be back on the road on Thursday to take on Sioux Falls Lincoln.
Tipoff of the girls games will be at 7:00 on Friday and 1:00 on Saturday while the boys will tip at 8:00 Central time on Friday and then at 2:00 Central time on Saturday. KCCR’s next broadcast will be next week Thursday when the boys team will travel to Sioux Falls.
