This weekend the Oahe Capitals will be busy at the Expo Center as the girls and boys will host a doubleheader against Huron on Friday while the girls will also host Brookings and Sioux Falls.
The Capital girls team is still in search of its first win at 0-2-1-0 after the loss to Sioux Falls back on Dec. 18 on the road. They’ll quickly get a chance to avenge the loss while the Flyers will also be playing a three game weekend as well. Saturday’s game will be a tough battle against Brookings who is currently 5-1 on the season with its only loss to the Aberdeen Cougars. Tonight’s contest is a must win against Huron who is also winless and don’t have many skaters on the team.
For the Capital boys, it’s the first time they will play since a weekend sweep of Sioux Center on Dec. 10-11. The Capitals are 5-1 and will face the 0-6 Huron All Stars. Steve Steele, head coach of the Caps says it’s been a challenge to have a routine over the last three weeks with the snow and Holidays…
Steele says it’s not been ideal with the long layoff from games…
Steele formula for success against Huron is a simple one…
Puck drop of the doubleheader is at 6:00 tonight at the Expo and then Saturday’s game will be at 6:00 and Sunday’s game at 5:00. Capital City Rock’s next broadcast will be next weekend when the Capital boys travel to Rapid City to face the Rushmore Thunder.
