Winner Sweeps Stanley County in First Game Since Break

The Winner Warriors used the running clock in both the girls and boys games on Thursday to run to wins in its first games since Dec. 9. The girls would win 52-15 and the boys 58-25.

Josey Kludt was the only scorer in double figures in the girls game as she led the way with 10 points for the Warriors knocking down two threes. Winner stretched its lead to 32-9 at the break and held Stanley County to just one basket each in three quarters. Morgan Hoffman had six points off the bench for Stanley County hitting a three in the second and third quarter as the Lady Buffs fall to 0-4 on the year.

Blake Volmer had 18 and Shawn Hammerbeck had 14 to lead the Winner boys to a 2-0 record in a 33 point victory. Winner had all five starters find the score sheet while having eight players in total score. Kaden Montana reached double figures for the Buffs scoring 11 as only four players scored for the 1-2 Buffaloes.

Stanley County quickly turns around and will face Herreid/Selby Area tonight in a doubleheader. The girls will play first at 6:30 with the boys to follow.
