Weather Related Announcements for Dec. 21-23

Here are the latest Weather Related Announcements in to us at Riverfront Broadcasting:

A water main leak has been identified on West Third Street. Water service remains, however those in the impacted area are advised to store enough water to last 24 hours.

If the leaking pipe deteriorates further before repairs can be made, water service will be lost until the pipe can be fixed.  Approximately 50 households in the LaBarge Court, Harney Court, and West Fifth Street could be impacted. Those identified on the attached map and the immediate adjacent area should store water by filling bathtubs, jugs, and buckets until a permanent repair can be made.

Weather conditions are making repairs very challenging; the City is working to remedy the issue as quickly as possible.

Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. is asking customers to immediately reduce natural gas usage in the Black Hills region until further notice. MDU’s natural gas supplier is experiencing supply constraints due to an equipment issue and the extreme weather conditions.

MDU gas customers can help by lowering their thermostat as much as they can comfortably manage, minimizing hot water usage, and turning off natural gas fireplaces, garage heaters and any other non-essential appliances that use natural gas.

The remaining section of I-29, between Watertown and the North Dakota state line, has significant drifting and visibility issues. Progress will be monitored.
