Pierre and Watertown Set to Face Off Before Christmas Break

The Pierre Governors and Watertown Arrows are set to resume games after having last week all postponed. The girls will have its home opener tonight while the boys will travel.

Both girls teams come in without a loss as both teams also lost two games due to the winter weather last week. The Arrows were scheduled to play Mitchell last Tuesday and Douglas on Friday while the Governors were scheduled to play Sturgis and Spearfish over the weekend. Watertown’s last and only game came in a win over Brookings on Friday, Dec. 9. Pierre last played on Dec. 10.

The Governor boys are also looking to go to 3-0 as they face the 0-1 Arrows. Watertown dropped a 54-32 decision to Brookings in the first game of the year. It will be the first time the Governors are on the road this year and for the Arrows to be at home. Heading into the week, Pierre and Lincoln are the only two 2-0 teams so far in the state.

KCCR will have coverage of the girls game tonight for its home opener. Coverage will begin at 6:30 with tip-off at 7:00 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
