The Pierre Governor basketball teams will have one less game this weekend, so far, as they take on the Spearfish Spartans on Saturday after having its game with Sturgis on Friday postponed.
The Governors and Scoopers will have its makeup date now on Saturday, Dec. 31 as the boys will travel to Sturgis while the girls will host. This now leads to Saturday’s game at home against Spearfish to be the home opener for the basketball team, weather pending. The girls team is 2-0 while Spearfish is 0-1 with a loss to Belle Fourche. The Governor boys are also 2-0 and will also face a 1-0 Spearfish team beating Belle Fourche last week, 64-44.
Tip-off time is scheduled for 2:00 in Pierre for the girls game and 3:00 Central Time for the boys game in Spearfish.
