Monday night at the Pierre school board meeting, the board announced its plans to begin to look for bids on expansion to athletic facilities.
It’s eight years in the making as it was first discussed back in 2014 and Darla Mayer, Pierre school district business manager, says the need has grown since back in 2014…
Mayer says last Summer they reached out to all the head coaches of every sport to share their needs for indoor athletic space. They worked with Koch Hazard architects to build a plan…
Mayer goes through more of the plan…
And also with the expansion, how some of the space will be divvied out…
Chris Brockevelt of Koch Hazard says one of the best things about this is the indoor track…
The Sschool board will now seek out bids. Brockevelt says he believes if construction begins by the end of the school year, the project will be completed by August of 2024.
