The Pierre Governor basketball season begins tonight as the boys and girls will both be in action this weekend as the boys host Rapid City Stevens and Central while the girls will travel out to Rapid City.
Both Governor teams open the year ranked fifth in the preseason basketball polls as both teams are senior heavy and look to make a deep run this season. The girls finished the year winning seven of eight to close the year before falling to Jefferson in the SoDak 16. The Pierre boys went 9-12 last season also falling to Jefferson in SoDak 16 in double overtime.
