Capitals Open Season at 3-0 with Sweep of Brandon Valley

The Oahe Capitals are now 3-0 to begin the season with its win on Sunday over Brandon Valley, beating the IceCats 6-1 , the second win over the IceCats in two days.

After a 4-3 win scoring late in the third period on Friday over Brookings, the Capitals answered with a late win over Brandon Valley on Saturday as Jayce Anderson scored the game winning goal in the last five minutes to give Oahe the 5-4 win. Then on Sunday, it was a three goal first period and three goal third period to lead the Caps to the weekend sweep.

Gavin Stone opened the scoring on the power play to give Brandon Valley an early 1-0 lead, but it was answered just 11 seconds later as Barrett Schweitzer would tie the game up 1-1. Jarron Beck would score the next two goals to close the period to give the Caps a 3-1 lead which would hold until the third period. Ashton Griese would score 12 seconds into the third and add a short handed goal to give Oahe a 5-1 advantage before Beck would finish the hat trick midway in the third to secure the five goal win. Colin Lee made 14 saves in net as he is now 3-0 to begin the season between the pipes.
