The Miller Rustlers would run out of steam on Saturday as they would fall to the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies in four sets in the third place game. Scores were 18-25, 25-21, 25-21 and 25-22.
Jaden Werdel would lead all hitters on the evening with 14 kills for the Rustlers as Miller came close in all three losing sets to beat the Huskies. Tricia Lammers had nine kills and Ally Mullaney had seven as the seniors careers came to an end on Saturday. Tyra Gates, another senior had 36 assists in her final match.
After the first set, the eighth seeded Huskies were able to pick up three set wins to claim its second victory of the tournament and jump five spots from its seed. Danica Torrez led the way with 12 kills for Elk Point-Jefferson while Natalie Heuertz had 10 kills and Sophia Glorgio had 38 assists.
The Rustlers finish the year at 33-4 while Elk Point-Jefferson finishes at 26-10.
