The Jones County Coyotes were unable to reach the state tournament as they would be upset in the 5-12 matchup to the Freeman Flyers falling in straight sets, 25-21, 25-15 and 25-21.
The Coyotes couldn’t get the offense rolling in what became just its second loss the entire season. The young Freeman team had control throughout each of the three sets and kept the Coyotes at a distance. Jones County finishes the season at 30-2 with the only losses to two state tournament teams.
The Flyers advance to the state tournament and will be the eight seed to take on the top seeded Warner who won in three sets over Viborg-Hurley.
