Fort Pierre Woman Sentenced For Bank Embezzlement

FORT PIERRE — A Fort Pierre woman has been sentenced in federal court for embezzling from a bank. U-S Attorney Alison Ramsdell says 27 year-old Bailey Ricketts was given one month in federal prison and three months of home confinement and two years of probation during the sentencing Monday. Ricketts was also ordered to pay back restitution in the amount of 38-thousand, 135-dollars. Rickets was indicted on the Bank Embezzlement charge by a federal grand jury in November of 2021. She entered a guilty plea to the charge in August. Ramsdell says from August of 2019 to November of 2020, Ricketts knowingly embezzled money from a Fort Pierre bank by transferring money into a personal account and the accounts of family members. Ricketts was ordered to report to the U-S Marshal’s Service to begin serving her sentence by the end of the week.
