Gregory Defeats Lyman in 9A State Semifinal

The Lyman Raiders run to the Dome was stopped short in the final leg as the Gregory Gorillas would win on the road on Friday night with a final score of 41-6.

The Gorillas would get the first score of the game in the first quarter, but the Raiders were able to answer with a Tance Wagner 37 yard pass from Teegan Gourneau to tie the game at 6-6 at the end of the first quarter. However, it was Gregory scoring the final 35 points of the game for the win. Kade Stukel and Owen Hanson each had two touchdowns to give Gregory a 27-6 lead at the half. Lyman would stop Gregory to begin the second half and force a turnover on downs, but the Gorillas came back with a fourth down stop of their own to halt any momentum. Two more scores in the second half for Gregory put an end to the fantastic season for the Raiders as they finish the year at 9-2.

Gregory advances to the Class 9A state title game and will face top seed Warner who won 63-20 over Harding County-Bison.
