The Stanley County Lady Buffalo volleyball season came to and end on Thursday with a loss to the Mobridge-Pollock Tigers in three sets, 25-9, 25-12 and 25-18.
Mobridge-Pollock jumped out to a quick lead in set one having five aces and the Lady Buffaloes had no answer as Stanley County had just three kills in the first set. Stanley County would jump out to a 5-1 lead in the second set, but a timeout recharged the Tigers to rally in the set to go up 2-0. Stanley County fought hard in the third set, but it just wasn’t enough to force a fourth game. Kori Gabriel and Cadence Hand each had four kills for the Lady Buffs while Grace Sargent in her final match led Stanley County with five kills. Mobridge-Pollock was led by Emma Keller with a match high 14 kills while Ryli Thompson had eight to help pace the Tigers to its second victory over the Lady Buffs this season.
Stanley County’s season ends with a 14-13 record while Mobridge-Pollock advances to the Class A SoDak 16 on Tuesday.
